Well, it’s been oh so long since I’ve posted anything so I thought I’d give an update. As you can see by my work laptop’s desktop, I’ve been engulfed with ancient Egypt. I’m proud to announce we just launched To Live Forever: Treasures From the Brooklyn Museum. I’m really happy with the way the design turned out. Of course, it helps when your handed some great branding and graphics to work with by the IMA’s in-house designers! Built with Drupal, this site came together quickly and without much fuss thanks to everyone who collaborated on it at the IMA. We’ll be adding a few more interactive pieces over the next several weeks, including a feature Brooklyn Museum is working on utilizing Flickr so be sure to check back.

I’m also working on a few other things on the side, including a Flash based goody that should see the light of day very soon! Not to mention an exciting video based project we’re about to kick into high gear at the IMA which should be challenging and exciting.

Now, back to my HUNDREDS of unread Gmail’s… sorry if to keep you waiting.

One day all browsers will behave the same they say. The thing is, web designers have been waiting for this day for several years now and still we are stuck figuring out browser specific style bugs and behaviors with no end in sight. But you didn’t need me to tell you that, did you?

I recently bookmarked a blog post from Eric Meyer called “Resetting Again” which helps deal with the issue. He has created a reset stylesheet which basically strips everything out for HTML elements. This is a good thing because it gives you a start on an even playing field by getting rid of that junk you never asked for in the first place. Trust me, Eric explains it much more intelligently, but that’s gist. Go see for yourself.

I love it so much I’ve used it on my stylesheet here, and I’m using it for another site I’m working on. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’ll be implementing this on all of the sites I build from now on. You should too!

Harder, Faster, Better, Stonger…? Well maybe not so much yet, but word is I am redesigning my half-completed blog I set up a few months ago. I’ve had the opportunity to set up a WordPress blog at work so I’ve learned a bit about some of the ins and outs of it. Mainly concerning templating and themes. So I’ll be knocking out the design over the next few days. Assuming somebody is reading this, please note as of publishing this here post the design is far from being complete.

I’ve been thinking for the past way too many months about how I should re-launch my personal site with a blog, and get my other site, stylesurge.com, back up and running. StyleSurge is still a work in progress with no end in site any time soon. So, I’ll be focusing on this one for now with updates and design ramblings as often as I can.
